An excerpt from an interview with Willem Boshoff conducted during his residency at the Nirox Art Residency, part of the Cradle of Humankind world heritage site just outside Johannesburg in October 2007.
Boshoff reflects on his life, politics and his art. He is in conversation with Tom Hickey. The interview is interspersed with footage taken of the Willem Boshoff Retrospective, 'Word Forms and Language Shapes' at the Standard bank Gallery, Johannesburg, Sept - Dec 2007.
This clip forms part of a documentary by Ian McDonald and Tom Hickey on the politics of art in post 'anti-apartheid' South Africa, due for release in 2010.
